The Tai Family

The Tai Family from Hong Kong have been involved in selling Western Australian sandalwood to China for many generations and still remain selling Western Australian sandalwood through Jimmy Tai. This goes back to the late 1800′s.

 

  

The photo was taken just before the First World War, around 1913. The gentleman in the middle sitting down was the first Chinese judge in Hong Kong and the man on his left is Mr Tai who was buying and selling Western Australian sandalwood. The man sitting on the left of the photo is Mr Hector who was a supplier of Western Australian sandalwood and his descendants still live in Perth Western Australia.
