3 Super Easy Ways to use Hydrosols
Hydrosols have many aliases; floral waters, hydrolates, herb distillates, essential waters... just to name a few. True hydrosols are the waters captured during steam distillation.
Hydrosols are a great bi-product and have many uses in formulations and around the house. Here are our three favourite way to use our Sandalwood and Agarwood hydrosols:
1. Face Toner
For a refreshing, calming face toner, simply mix your favourite hydrosol with distilled water and add a couple of drops of essential oils. Pour into a clean spray bottle, shake well before each use and store in the refrigerator during the summer months.
We recommend 1 part agarwood hydrosol, 2 parts distilled water and 2-3 drops of Sandalwood essential oil.
2. Sleepy Linen Spray
Agarwood and Sandalwood are both known calmatives. A great way to ensure a relaxing deep sleep is to spray hydrosols onto your pillow or linen at night. Essential oils can leave a mark on your linen, use pure hydrosols in a spray bottle and spray a light mist onto your pillow a few minutes before bed.
3. Electric Diffusers
There are so many electric diffusers on the market these days, you can buy them anywhere and most households have at least one! Hydrosols can be poured neat into electric diffusers and provide a beautiful aroma.
