Each 3 hour Sandalwood Mosquito Stick is designed to burn for 3 hours in the wind. However, in most patio areas the stick will burn for up to 4 hours. Each 6 hour Sandalwood Mosquito Stick will burn for approximately 6 hours.

This is a very difficult question to answer. The primary reason for labelling 'not for indoor use' is an APVMA (Australian Pesticide and Veterinary Medicine Authority – formerly NRA) requirement for all insect repellents. As most of the burning insect repellents are chemically enhanced the APVMA quite rightly are concerned about them being used indoors. Unfortunately we fall under this regulation. The irony is that if we sold them as a scented incense stick, rather than a mosquito stick, then there is no requirement to label 'not for indoor use'. All of the ingredients we use are from natural products, but the regulations bring us into the insect repelling arenas and therefore we must follow the rules. Yes it is. New Mountain Sandalwood Mosquito Sticks are made from deadwood collected from the desert areas of Western Australia. No trees are cut down to manufacture the sticks and even the collection of deadwood is carefully monitored to ensure that the wood is not collected quicker than it naturally dies. You can read more about the sustainability of our products here

A blend of natural and 100% pure essential oils.

We use 100% Sandalwood and it is the most expensive wood in the world. The natural occurring smoke from the burning of Sandalwood repels mosquitos and significantly helps reduce contact with mosquitoes. There are no additives and they are portable.

Fifteen minutes before you are going outside, light the required amount of mosquito sticks in your outdoor area, and place each stick at 3 metres apart. It is essential the sticks are placed at ground level. The sandalwood repellent will create a barrier during this time. If you don't use the sticks in one setting, just extinguish and relight next time, so you are not wasting the product. Our Sandalwood Mosquito Sticks are environmentally friendly and use Western Australian Sandalwood that is sustainable.

Great question! Light the tip of your New Mountain Sandalwood Mosquito Repellent stick. It is essential to light the tip of the stick until it is fully flamed and then continue to let the stick flame for 30 - 60 seconds. After this period of time, gently blow out the flame. If you then lightly blow on the tip again you should see a full red ring burning around the perimeter of the stick. This ensures that stick is fully lit and the repellent is emitting correctly.

DEET is a chemical used in many repellents on the market. It should not be applied to babies and toddlers or used by pregnant women. DEET should not be continuously applied to the skin.

Nothing. The taste may not be that good but the sandalwood and essential oils will not do any harm. Give a drink of water to take away the taste.

The management team of our sandalwood division identified a need in the marketplace for a natural mosquito repellent that was chemical free and safe around humans and animals. Domestic standard post can take approximately 2 - 8 business days depending on your location.
