The Boolamarr logo is designed by Dr Richard Walley OAM Nyoongar Statesman, and renowned Aboriginal artist.

"The leaf and seed depict the golden sunrise.

In the leaves are the waves of water.

The seed is represented with its many layers".

Boolamarr

Boolamarr means ‘many hands’ in the language of the Nyoongar people of the South West of Western Australia.

Boolamarr is a 100% Aboriginal owned brand, created by owners Dr Richard Walley OAM Nyoongar Statesman and his wife, Robyn Smith-Walley. The Walley family are actively involved in Nyoongar culture and the Arts, delivering cultural consultancy/advisory, cultural awareness and learning programmes, music performances, and contemporary events for over 30 years.

Personal Care Range

Boolamarr manufactures a range of personal care products which are made in Australia and are inspired by traditional Aboriginal use of native plants, developed for modern applications.  Richard and Robyn have a long rich history of over 2000 generations passing on the knowledge and cultural wisdom, of the benefits of Australian native plants.

All Boolamarr products contain Sandalwood Seed Oil.

Sandalwood is valued for its medicinal and spiritual benefits. The seeds have been used for many generations to protect and heal the skin and soothe aching joints. The wood, bark and leaves of the Sandalwood tree has been burned as a natural mosquito repellent.

Unique Benefits of Sandalwood Seed Oil

Sandalwood Seeds are collected from native Western Australian Sandalwood (Santalum spicatum) from trees 5 years and older. WA native Sandalwood grows naturally throughout Western Australia, no irrigation or fertilisers are required. Many Sandalwood growers need to wait over 35 years to harvest their trees. Harvesting the seeds provides a financial return while they wait for the trees to mature.

Sandalwood Seed Oil contains high levels of rare ximenynic acid, known to repair and restore skin, and oleic acid to moisturise skin. Our customers agree that repetitive use of Boolamarr products does not dry out skin.

Biodegradable Sandalwood Shell Grit

Sandalwood Shell Grit is the bi product of Sandalwood Seed Oil. The hard shell of the seed is ground down to a small particle and used as the 'grit' in the Industrial Hand Wash formula. Sandalwood Shell grit is biodegradable, therefore this natural ingredient will not harm the water ways or marine life.

Antimicrobial Properties of Lemon Myrtle

The Lemon Myrtle (Backhousia citriodora) essential oil used in Boolamarr is a natural botanical oil sustainably farmed in Australia. Studies have proven that the pure essential oil of lemon myrtle is more potent against bacteria than pure tea tree oil (Wilkinson et al. 2003), ensuring our products are effective.

Boolamarr supports Aboriginal youth groups by using Sandalwood Seed Oil

A percentage from Sandalwood Seed Oil sales is returned to sandalwood growing communities by Aboriginal owned Kworp Marr Pty Ltd. These donations directly fund cultural and educational workshops through language and the arts for Aboriginal youth.
